Studio setup

Set up how your studio works

For: Studio owners and managers

Where: Studio → Settings; Settings → Policies

Video walkthrough — or follow the steps below.

Start with the handful of choices that affect everyday work. You can return to Settings as your studio settles in.

  1. Under Settings, check your studio contact details, timezone and Opening hours. These give bookings and client-facing information the right context.
  2. Under Services we offer, enable piercing or laser if applicable. Tattoo is available by default.
  3. Open Policies → Deposit & booking to review when a consultation or deposit is required before a first tattoo session. Check the rules against how your studio actually operates.
  4. Open Policies → Roster if some artists should manage their own calendar column. The owner enables this for the studio; an owner or manager then chooses which individual artists get it on Roster.
  5. Review Waiver settings and templates, then the Customer Portal options for what clients may request or see. Set up Messaging when you are ready to send client communications.

There are two kinds of policy here. Operational rules affect what Kiroku asks staff to do, such as deposit and roster settings. Client-facing policies explain your studio's cancellation or aftercare terms in the portal; changing their text does not by itself change the booking rules. Review both before sharing the portal with clients.
